I can't say that I know but I am appalled. I have sons and have always taught them that's its improper and I even used the men at the church as examples to validate what I was saying. I was volunteer clergy there until last year. I just found out about the earring from the wedding photos. However, a few weeks ago I saw one of the pastors of the church and he had an earring on - AT CHURCH on a weekday. I was appalled and stunned. What has the world - or the Church - come to? Scary. That's all I can say is scary. A long time I wondered why so little love circulates in the Potters House - I know I was a member for 10 years. I questioned why this and that was allowed and prevalent - I hated to believe that the only way something could go on and ABIDE was that it was "approved" through the head; I guess that's the same thing here. I'm extremely disappointed and am REPOSITIONING myself to really be in the face of God. The Lord introduced Himself to me and I'll finish my time on this earth with that foundation; I will not let man deter me.
