check the fan not attached to a pully make sure it is plugged in and look if it turns on when the car gets hot. if not then you have a short somewhere.

Yes, if it is leaking and the coolant level is low.
I just changed a water pump in my '98 jeep that had all the blades rusted off !!! It was "slicing" the water, instead of pumping it.

Yes it will, unless the Grand Cherokee has the V-8, otherwise it is a direct fit and bolt up. The basic block is the same,the accessories are different, you will have to switch everything over
Unless you like oil all over the bottom of your jeep then yes, you should replace it. If it breaks completely the oil will stream out of there in no time. The good news is that its cheap and easy to replace. Just do it !!
