If it starts but stalls when you try to move, could be the anti-theft system has somehow engaged and a kill switch is kicking in.
Try
(1.) turning off the car and removing the key
(2) open the drivers door
(3) using the electronic door lock system, lock the door. Be sure the manual lock also engages when you push the electonic lock; if it does not, then manually lock it.
(4) put the key back in the ignition, turn it to the ON position (dash lights come on) but do not turn the key far enough to start the car.
Remove the key, (take it with you!!!!) get out of the car and close the door.
(5) Using the KEY, unlock the door, insert the key and start the engine.
(6) if the anti theft was the problem, it should run properly. If it still does not run, it is probably a different problem.
I would guess you are low on transmission fluid.
Yes it could.
Buy a multimeter and start by testing what ever is malfunctioning.
There are a few reasons why a 1994 Mazda Protege won't start, but does crank. A couple of reasons could be the air flow sensor or a problem in the fuel lines.
A problem with the emissions system.
Bad Distributor
Need to know what the problem is. Need more information.
You can try spraying some carburetor cleaner into the intake by way of a vacuum line or pcv hose Just a little dab will do you. If the engine tries to start it would indicate that you have a fuel problem.
I was told the computer was bad. I would test the computer first. It may also be the ignition module. I had the same problem with my '94 Mazda truck. It would be running fine and then just shut off. Also had trouble starting up every now and again. Usually i could just tap on the ignition module several times and it would start right up.
i would say maybe a bulb or a flasher
Yes the 1994 Mazda Protege is a OBD 1 port
