EGR Valve is dirty, or stuck open. Replace or better yet change.
There could be a few reasons why a 1997 Chrysler Sebring loses power and stalls at a low speed. The thermostat could be bad, the battery cables could be lose, or a spark plug may need changed.

There's a solinoid in the transmission.Suggest to check that first. Turn on interior lights. Start engine. If the lights go out when the engine stalls, you have a bad ignition switch.

Turn on your headlights and hazard lights, call 911
Similar problem on my 1997 Sebring LXi. You may want to clean or replace your EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). It's located between the firewall and engine. Very simple to replace.

My car did the same thing, is your lights affected? If so it's your alternator.the lights are not affected. i mean they cut out when the car stalls out but isn't that typical?
