On mine, when the lights are off, the left brake light is faint but still works. When the lights are one, the running light is on (faint) but goes out when I hit the brakes. And the turn signal doesnt ever work. When Ive checked the light bulbs they burn out fast. I have been told that replacing the plastic bulb housing will fix this. But I have not tried it yet.
Yes.
A couple things can cause your right side brake light to stop working. The most common cause is a burnt out lightbulb. A loose ground wire can also cause it to stop working.
usually the brake light swith is up under the dash right above the brake pedal itself. I have an 09 cobalt and it has a u shaped tab that rides on the side of the brake pedal arm on a small stud that sticks out.
If memory serves me right, each tail light assembly has a printed circuit board that the bulbs plug into. That circuit board burns out. That part is available from the Chevy dealer.
1996 Chevy Lumina brake light bulb replacement: Purchase the correct replacement brake light bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement bulb information. Then consult your owner's manual for the brake light bulb replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).
your in luck i just had to do this on my 95 lol you will have to carefully lower your steering column, and above it there is the brake light switch conected to the brake pedal and a rod going towards the front of the vehicle where the master cylindar is at. on the little piece sticking out to the right of the brake light switch there is a pin that keeps it in place. remove that pin and then remove the wires connected to the switch. should come right off and then just put the new brake light switch on and reverse the steps. hope this helps
the brake light switch is located on the brake padal bracket just to the right of the steering column mount. you'll need to remove the left underdash sound panel beneath the steering column to get to the switch and connector.
If im thinking right about your problem you are showing a light on your dashboard....can be cause bcs cable its stuck or a rear brake cylinder or drum its bad....
the emergency brake is on the right side on the console
The left brake light works the right brake light doesn't and the bulbs is good
on the brake pedal under the dash there will be a king pin pull it out and remove the stud and the switch should come right out then dosconnect the wireing harness and replace switch
It is underneath the Brake Pedal. It's mounted to and right above the brake pedal.
