If your engine will not turn over the causes could be:
1. Battery terminals need to be cleaned and tightened on the posts.
2. Battery is discharged or faulty.
3. Automatic transmission is not in neutral or Park. If it is a manual the clutch start switch is faulty. It is at the clutch pedal.
4. Bad wiring in the starting circuits.
5. Starter motor pinion jammed in the flywheel. With the car in gear rock it back and forth to release pinion. Remove starter and check pinion.
6. Starter solenoid faulty.
7. Starter motor faulty.
8. Ignition switch faulty.
You just turn the whole distributor loosen both bolts and turn slightly when the car is running.

Check the 92 Camaro neutral safety switch next. If the switch is faulty then the starter will not get power to start the engine.

They are not interchangable. The 87 is a 1st generation Escort and the 92 is a 2nd generation Escort.
Which is the correct gearbox of Ford escort efi 1.6 92 model
According to my Chilton's Auto Repair manual : For a ( 1991 ) Ford Escort , 1.9 liter four cylinder engine * the 8th " character " of the VIN is a " J " (it is rated at 110 horsepower )
You must diagnose and fix the problem. A 1992 is equipped with OBD1 diagnostics, so the light wouldn't be on if the computer wasn't seeing a problem.
0.92
Are you sure it is the Master? Try the key in the glove box lock. The power door locks should unlock the trunk for you turn the key if it is right over to the right turn it right over to the left . you turn the key to far right to stop the boot been opened when the doors are not closed.
Yes. It is possible that there may be a few parts that don't interchange though, but it is basically the same car.
