well i have a 94 z28 and it will run up to about 210 when idleing because the factory set the fans to come on around there not shure of the exact numbers the fans come on when not that hot but i think its on a low speed setting so it don't realy do much but when driving the car produces a huge air dam that forces air through the radiator and the fans don't even come on. i noticed when i was doing some work on my car and i unpluged the air intake temp sensor after a while the fans kicked on to high prob as a safteyand would not go above 190. so ill double check that if you want try it to make shure if both fans work on high speed i cant explain the low coolent light though exactly what temp does it get to does the temp hold stedy but hot is it a V8 or V6
