I have a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and had the same problem. The solution to mine was the following: I had a loose nut on the linkage to the transmission located under the hood. Before the fix I would have to turn the car on in Neutral. While I was looking at the trans from under the hood I had a friend shift the trans and I saw the loose nut. Tightening it down the first time didn't work, so I had to back off on the nut, then move around a plastic piece it was attached to. I then tightened it and it was fixed. I hope this helps you.
If the Car didn't start with the key turning the ignition then the car was "hotwired" to turn the Car on.If the key did not start the car, how was it started.
Turn the key.
Its a 94 Probe and my son stuck the key in tonight and the car wont turn on
Does it turn over? Does it turn over?
No, You do not need a key fob to start a car. When starting a car, you put the key in the ignition and turn. Power comes from car battery, not from the key fob battery!
Well you put the key in the ignition and you turn it.
You put the key in the ignition and turn, you don't need a fob in order to start a car.
is your security light flashing? turn the key on, leave on for 10 mins, turn key off let it sit for 2 mins, start car
If you have the original, Start your car with the original key. As soon as you turn it off, stick the new key in and start the car with the new key. The key will be automatically programed. I you do not have the original key, it will be a long process. 1st put the key in the ignition and turn it forward but do not attempt to start the car. Leave it there for 11 minutes turn it back to off position for 30 seconds. Do this a total of three times. After the third time, Start the vehicle. I hope this does it for you. Good luck!
Perhaps you have no hands or fingers?
Get in car. Put key in ignition switch. Turn key.
Push the clutch all the way to the floor, and turn the key to start it.
