I have read that there are two types of blood tests: One is like the EPT answer with a YES or a No, the other actually measures the amount of HCG in the blood Down to the actual number. One test says "Yes" if HCG is over 20. In early pregnancy, it may take awhile to get to 20. This test is about as accurate as a hpt. So if you have HPT's that are stronger than 20 than it will be more reliable than the blood test. There could have been HCG but it didn't qualify for a positive via the lab because it was under 20. I would ask the doctor if he did the HCG qualifying test or if he did the HCG quantity test. The QUant gives the actual number, down to 0 while the Qual is 20+. You probably are still pregnant, he just ordered the other test. Congrats.

Yes, of course it's normal to have blood in your cervix when due your period. Your cervix is the opening to your uterus, thus as it starts to shed the blood will pass through your cervix.

If you are pregnant your cervix will swell and get firmer to the touch. This is due to the entrance being sealed so it now starts collecting fluids inside.
