yes its ok to run dyed kerosene in your heater i have been doing it for at least 2 years now with no problems.
I am out of oil with a delivery scheduled for tomorrow. I went out to the shed to get a 5 gallon can and found a 5 gallon kerosene can filled. I have no smell therefore can not tell if the clear liquid is kerosene or gasoline. I hate to throw it away if it is kerosene, I could burn it in the heater
"definetly not it sould be clear" Sorry friend, you're wrong. Kerosene can be either dyed red, most often in bulk containers, or clear. The clear Kerosene has a higher federal tax than the died. It doesnt matter the color, red or clear.
Kerosene and heating oil are not the same. Make sure you use clear kerosene if you aren't venting out of a chimney - for example a space heater. Regular kerosene has a red dye that can be toxic
No. The "natural" color of kerosene is clear to a slight light yellow.
As long as it is classified as "1k water clear" Ask the attendant to be sure.

Replacing the wick in ANY kerosene heater is explained, in detail, and usually with illustrations, in the instruction sheet provided with the replacement wick. I have a Corona 22-DK and purchased a new wick from Ace Hardware (American Wick Company) product I'm pretty sure. The instructions gave me all the help I needed. Important additional information: 1. Burn ONLY 1K kerosene - A.K.A. Clear or Low Sodium Kerosene, the red stuff will ruin your wick quickly. 2. Be sure to keep 10 square inches of window venting the room with the heater, very important! 3. It is recommended to run your heater dry every once in a while, allegedly to maintain wick health; I don't do this and have not had problems. 4. When disassembling your tank, use your digital camera (phone) to take pictures as you go, reassembly will be MUCH easier if you do. Some parts can go back in more than one way, especially the wick riser mechanism, you'll need to see the picture you took to get it back the same way so that it works right. I had to disassemble mine a second time to fix this part because, although I did take the picture, I failed to look at it during reassembly. I thought I knew how it went back in but when I had it all back together the wick would not rise up high enough to light it.
Varsol Clear kerosene works pretty good.
It depends. Kerosene, Heating oil, Diesel and Jet-A are very similar. They all kind of smell like furniture polish. K-1: Clear or slight yellow. K-1 Commerical grade: Red. BioD: Green Citronella oil: 50/50 mix is yellow. Motor K: Clear. Old Kerosene: If it was clear, turns yellow with age.
i havent a clue but maybe clear wax might do the trick, does any one know how to take stains and prevents stains from corona furniture?
