There are a lot of small loan, pawn shops, check cashing services all in one. Just look in the phone book under check cashing. Usually they will charge a small fee. Maybe you can use the same place your dad uses if you show proof, letter from doctor for example, that he is unable to cash them himself. If you have a lower class neighborhood nearby find out where they cash checks. Some of them have no type of ID and still get checks cashed but be prepared to pay a little extra for the service.
