Make a pet photo alblum of your pet. This will help you remember all the good times you and your pet had. Write a poem or letter to your pet and add it to the album, this will help release some of your pain. Try to focus on the life of your golden cocker spaniel and volunteer at an animal shelter.

What are some Cocker Spaniel Facts?

A charming and gentle mannered creature, the Cocker Spaniel is a dog that enjoys playing but also has a clam and dignified manner about him. This is a dog that gets along well with children, especially when raised with them, and get on well with other animals and with strangers. The Cocker Spaniel is a sociable and amiable dog with a cheerful outlook on life and a responsive attitude. He is highly intelligent making him a stand-out at obedience training. The Cocker Spaniel is a dog that will usually be pretty easy to train, and will be fine for the more inexperienced dog owner as well as more experienced owners. The Cocker Spaniel is a willing, enthusiastic, and keen dog, and is eager to please, active, and very friendly. Owners may find that these dogs are difficult to housebreak, and often barking can be a problem. These dogs are affectionate, which is great news for those looking for a devoted pet, but the Cocker Spaniel can sometimes get a little over dedicated and clingy, which makes him something of a demanding pet, and certainly not ideal for those that cannot dedicate the time to look after a pet and pay it plenty of attention. The Cocker Spaniel is a pretty, dignified, and elegant looking dog, with a silky, medium length coat and a shorter, undercoat. The coloring can be black, buff, or chocolate, and may have tan trims. The ears of the Cocker Spaniel are long, silky, and hang to the side, adding to its sweet and innocent expression. These dogs are about 13-16 inches in height, and the weight of the Cocker Spaniel is around 22-28 pounds. His body is small but sturdy, and he is a medium shedder, which means that he is not ideal for those with allergies. The coat of the Cocker Spaniel should be brushed every couple of days in order to keep it in good condition, and every couple of months or so you may need to get the coat clipped. Also, during grooming sessions you should check the ear canals to ensure that they are clean and dry. The life expectancy of the Cocker Spaniel is around 10-14 years, and there are a number of health problems that are linked to this breed. This includes PRS. HD, cataracts, autoimmune problems, skin conditions, and epilepsy. You should ensure that the parents of the Cocker Spaniel have OFA and CERF certificates. The Cocker Spaniel was recognized in England in the late 1880s, and in the same period was also introduced in America. The Cocker Spaniel is though to originate from Spanish blood, and this breed was registered with the AKC in 1878.

How tall in height will your spanador grow to please help?

In mixed breeds, there's no way to tell the exacts. An American Cocker Spaniel is an avg. of 15' tall, and a lab is an avg. of 22' tall, so any height there or in between is possible. Good luck ;)

Are there such a thing as a miniature golden retriever?

The first Comfort Retriever was created by a Golden Retriever breeder who had wished for years that there was a smaller variation of Golden Retriever so that even owners that preferred smaller dogs could enjoy a Golden Retriever. In 2003 the first litter was produced. This breeding was done by Kathy Burgess in Kentucky. The first two litters were composed of Golden Retriever and Cocker Spaniel. When temperament issues occurred the Cocker Spaniel was discontinued from the breeding program. All further litters were composed only of Golden Retriever and Poodle. The Miniature Golden Retriever is not a purebred; rather, it is a specific type of mixed-breed dog or crossbreed. As such, it is not accepted for registration by recognized registries of purebred dogs. Miniature Golden Retrievers composed only of Golden Retriever and Poodle can be registered with the Designer Dog Kennel Club (DDKC). They registered the first Miniature Golden Retriever July 21 2009. Since the first Miniature Golden Retriever was produced and registered other breeders have started calling their dogs Miniature Golden Retrievers, despite the dogs having different breed combinations from the original Miniature Golden Retriever. Breeders have found other hybrid registries that will register their dogs as Miniature Golden Retrievers. Miniature Golden Retrievers composed of Golden Retriever and (an unknown cross) can be registered with the Dog Registry of America (DRA).. Miniature Golden Retrievers composed of 50% or more a golden retriever, up to 25% poodle, American Cocker Spaniel or other spaniel breed can be registered with the Certified Pet Registry (CPR). Please be aware that since the registries have different definitions for Miniature Golden Retrievers any potential owner should ask what the hybrid is composed of. A dog registered with CPR could have no poodle and therefore none of the poodle intelligence, temperament, hypo-allergenic and reduced shedding attributes. The dog would also be composed of one or more types of spaniel. The types of spaniel used in the breeding should be researched so the potential owner will understand the impact of the dog's intelligence, temperament, health issues and other attributes. Please research those breeds.

What is the kindest smallest sweetest spaniel?

The Brittany is no longer classified as a spaniel but it used to be. I have a female and after doing some research discovered that her characteristics are typical. She is very sweet and lovable. She loves to please. She loves to look in your eyes. She lays her head on my chest and gazes up at me. Brittanies are an active breed and she is satisfied with a daily walk but can skip it if the weather is bad. Brittanies are taller than cocker spaniels but more slender. They are medium sized about 32-40 lbs. They have excellent noses and love to run free. I walk her and make her heel but then set her loose in the park.

What temperature is too cold for a cocker spaniel dog?

I believe that you should keep your cocker spaniel in temperature's no lower than 63 degrees and no higher than 89 degrees. If you plan on going on vacations I suggest you take them with you, and please keep them with you at all times they have a tendency to wander off. If you also go on vacation and you can't bring your cocker spaniel along then make sure to get a self watering kit for the dog if your going to be gone long and if your going to be gone and hour or two leave them a full bowl. And if your going shopping leave him in the bathroom a smaller room for smaller accidents spots. If you leave him in there there's no way he can accidentally escape while you are bringing groceries in. Also you can lower your chances of stepping in dog feces or dog urine. If its in the bathroom its much faster to clean up. Also while he/she's in there leave their water bowl in there with them. But if you have multiple dogs keep them at a friends house or neighbor or family's house. Either way they should never be alone it would practically kill them to be lonely and no human contact for weeks. I hope you have been given enough information and more then enough. If anyone else has anything I left out please leave a different answer or comment. Thank you --Lori Bolden-- I may be thirteen but I definitely know how to take care of my baby dog. You are in my thoughts forever Cowboy.
