The first Comfort Retriever was created by a Golden Retriever breeder who had wished for years that there was a smaller variation of Golden Retriever so that even owners that preferred smaller dogs could enjoy a Golden Retriever. The Miniature Golden Retriever is not a purebred; rather, it is a specific type of mixed-breed dog or crossbreed. As such, it is not accepted for registration by recognized registries of purebred dogs. Miniature Golden Retrievers composed only of Golden Retriever and Poodle can be registered with the Designer Dog Kennel Club (DDKC). They registered the first Miniature Golden Retriever July 21 2009. Since the first Miniature Golden Retriever was produced and registered other breeders have started calling their dogs Miniature Golden Retrievers, despite the dogs having different breed combinations from the original Miniature Golden Retriever. Breeders have found other hybrid registries that will register their dogs as Miniature Golden Retrievers. Miniature Golden Retrievers composed of Golden Retriever and (an unknown cross) can be registered with the Dog Registry of America (DRA).. Miniature Golden Retrievers composed of 50% or more a golden retriever, up to 25% poodle, American Cocker Spaniel or other spaniel breed can be registered with the Certified Pet Registry (CPR). Please be aware that since the registries have different definitions for Miniature Golden Retrievers any potential owner should ask what the hybrid is composed of. A dog registered with CPR could have no poodle and therefore none of the poodle intelligence, temperament, hypo-allergenic and reduced shedding attributes. The dog would also be composed of one or more types of spaniel. The types of spaniel used in the breeding should be researched so the potential owner will understand the impact of the dog's intelligence, temperament, health issues and other attributes. The Brittany is no longer classified as a spaniel but it used to be. I have a female and after doing some research discovered that her characteristics are typical. She is very sweet and lovable. She loves to please. She loves to look in your eyes. She lays her head on my chest and gazes up at me. Brittanies are an active breed and she is satisfied with a daily walk but can skip it if the weather is bad. Brittanies are taller than cocker spaniels but more slender. They are medium sized about 32-40 lbs. They have excellent noses and love to run free. I walk her and make her heel but then set her loose in the park.

I believe that you should keep your cocker spaniel in temperature's no lower than 63 degrees and no higher than 89 degrees. If you plan on going on vacations I suggest you take them with you, and please keep them with you at all times they have a tendency to wander off. If you also go on vacation and you can't bring your cocker spaniel along then make sure to get a self watering kit for the dog if your going to be gone long and if your going to be gone and hour or two leave them a full bowl. And if your going shopping leave him in the bathroom a smaller room for smaller accidents spots. If you leave him in there there's no way he can accidentally escape while you are bringing groceries in. Also you can lower your chances of stepping in dog feces or dog urine. If its in the bathroom its much faster to clean up. Also while he/she's in there leave their water bowl in there with them. But if you have multiple dogs keep them at a friends house or neighbor or family's house. Either way they should never be alone it would practically kill them to be lonely and no human contact for weeks. I hope you have been given enough information and more then enough.
