It turned green because it wasn't pigmented first, this means that you needed to put on a different colour before you put on the light brown. I don't know what colour your hair was so I can't tell you what that colour should have been.

It turned green cause your hair was blond with a yellow base and you used a light brown with an ash base. Go back get a light brown with red base and that will neutralize the green by pulling it over to the neutral(middle) of the color wheel, then that should do you justice.
