I Take it your sheets are white and that is why its so hard to get out, on a white sheet with blood, red wine, sauce etc, Use toothpaste, Layer a small amount of toothpaste on the stain and scrub with a wet toothbrush or nail cleaning brush with a little hot water. then soak the sheet in a warm bath, the stain should then have lifted, remember the toothpaste must be well worked in and must remain in when put in the bath
