Your jade probably is not receiving enough light. Jade tends to 'stretch' to find light leaving the plant looking lanky and weak. Best advice at this stage would be to prune the plant back to a more acceptable shape (you can save the cuttings to form new jade plants see this site for more info on cuttings - http://www.squidoo.com/jadegarden).

Then get the plant to some decent light. They seem to like around 4 hours of direct sunlight a day but need to be worked up to that amount. That is to say that if your jade gets lots of filtered light a day but no direct sun don't just go throwing your plant in the front window that gets 6 hours of blazing sun a day. It will most certainly end in disaster. Instead gradually move it closer and closer to the window and let it get used to the new light. Think of it as un-tanned skin on the beach :)

The jades stems seem to form a woody bark when placed in proper light which strengthens the plant greatly and prevent drooping.

Why is my jade plant growing too tall?

Your jade plant may be growing too tall because it is not receiving enough sunlight or is not being pruned regularly. Insufficient light can cause the plant to stretch upwards in search of more light, leading to tall growth. Pruning can help promote a more compact and bushy growth habit.
