Look past his words and analyze his actions: would a man who is fully committed to someone be secretly texting another girl? Most likely you were already seeing red flags about his behavior, so you dug around (with cause) to see if your suspicions would be confirmed. People in healthy relationships do have opposite sex friends; what they don't have are secret friends, where they hide their interactions with them from their partner. Your boyfriend has willingly cheated you of the trust in this relationship. The fact that you had to find out through your own investigation, instead of him being honest about his feelings before he went after another girl, should be an indicator of what you can expect in any future relationship or marriage with him.
