no periods are not always red, they can be a very dark red/brown colour, it depends on the individual!
yep, happens 2 me all the time!
Some brown discharge is normal, it's just old blood nothing to get worried about. (Unless of course you know for a fact that you were pregnant, meaning a doctor told you that you were) Old blood looks brown instead of red and is common during periods, though it usually occurs at the end of the period.
Blood turns brown when it is exposed to air for a period of time because the iron in the hemoglobin molecules oxidizes, causing the blood to change color.
Yes, blood can appear brown once dried due to the oxidation of hemoglobin. The iron in hemoglobin reacts with the oxygen in the air, turning the blood from red to brown over time.
Typically menstrual flow is red - because it's primarily blood, you may also see blackish coloured lumps which are pieces of the uterine lining. When your period first starts bleeding is light so it will look pink where blood mixes with discharge or brown where blood has gone brown due to it taking time to leave your body and mixing with discharge - your period may remain light like this throughout your first period, or as it gets heavier you may see more bleeding (red).
At the time there were very few coloured people in Europe.
Brown dried blood in a wound or on a surface could be caused by the oxidation of hemoglobin in the blood, which occurs when blood is exposed to air for a period of time. This process can result in the blood turning brown in color. Other potential causes could include older blood that has been present for a longer period of time, or the presence of certain substances or conditions that can affect the color of the blood.
Brown blood is just old blood. This is typically not a reason for concern, but if you have additional symptoms that are not normal for you, then you should contact your doctor.
That the blood was supposed to come out some time ago, but that's completely normal.
It depends on your body. My last depo was due in Feb 08 and I didn't have it as my husband and I want to start a family. In April 08 I started having heavy, brown coloured bleeding which has gradually changed to heavy red blood. However I am having these heavy periods every two weeks and they last for 5 to 7 days each time. My GP says this will regulate itself but could take a year.
Because it is a relief to the eyes after looking at red blood for extended periods of time.
Brown simply means old blood. It's normal if your period is light.Blood that has mixed with discharge and taken time to leave your body can turn brown - just like blood from any other part of your body may go brown.
