It does actually matter. Putting the pregnant individual on her right side could be fatal. The weight of the baby could cut off blood flow to and from he inferior vena cave, which would more than likely kill her.
"Mister McGiggles" EMT-B
Pregnant women : always put an unconscious pregnant woman in recovery position on her left side . This prevents compression of the Inferior vena cava by the uterus, which could be fatal for both the mother and the child.
Recovery position or left lateral recumbent position.
left side
The recovery position is typically done on the left side of the body because it keeps the airway clear and allows fluids to drain out of the mouth more easily. Placing someone on the right side can still be effective, but the left side is often preferred in order to maximize airway protection and drainage.
If a pregnant woman collapses, first ensure her safety by checking her responsiveness and calling for emergency help. If she is unresponsive but breathing, place her in the recovery position, ideally on her left side to improve blood flow to the fetus. Monitor her vital signs and provide reassurance until help arrives. If she is not breathing, begin CPR while waiting for emergency services.
Leave the AED attached and place the victim in the recovery position by rolling them onto their (preferebly left) side.
a foot
Left, rather than right, lateral recovery position reduces the pressure on the inferior vena cava (the main vein bringing blood from the lower body to the heart) in patients with increased mass or pressure in the abdomen (e.g. pregnancy). This helps the blood flow back to the heart, to then be pumped around the body again. Pressure on the inferior vena cava, reducing venous return (blood flow to the heart) can result in reduced blood flow, leading to shock.
putting someone in the recovery position is easy. if they are sat on something e.g an sofa gently lift them down to the floor being careful of there head sit next to them if you are sat on there right move there left hand if your on there left move the right hand. you mve the hand over the neck and then lift there leg up grab there trousers and pull them onto the side. if you wonder how i know this i have trained with st.johns ambulance in Yorkshire and its well instructed.
The recovery company should have left some information. If not contact your creditor. You have a right to know where the vehicle is and what options you have for recovery.
