Leave the AED attached and place the victim in the recovery position by rolling them onto their (preferebly left) side.

AEDs should only be used when a pulse is not detected. Rescue breathing should be used when the victim is not breathing.
If the AED has completed the shock sequence, check the pulse and breathing for 10 seconds. If no pulse and breathing, resume CPR until the AED begins the analyze cycle again.

allow the victim to assume the position easiest for breathing, and observe/treat for shock.

Keep the airway open, monitor breathing and pulse. Breathing rapidly is probably a result of the victim going into shock. The AED willreanalyze in about 2 minutes. When the condition exists that there is no breathing, give 2 breaths and check for a pulse. If there is a pulse, and no breathing give rescue breaths. No breathing, no pulse, give CPR.
Possibility of shock.
You then check for breathing & pulse for a maximum of 10 seconds; if no breathing & pulse immediately start CPR and continue CPR until AED re-analyzes.
