Are you giving him enough water. Is his cage clean. You need to make sure all conditions are good for the rabbit. Is he cool enough. Rabbits natural habitat is under the ground where it is cool. Try these things and see if bunnie feels better.

ORRR it might not be hungry....did u ask it?!?!!

The pellets could be fouled and taste bad or they could be old. Old feed not only tastes bad but has lost most of it's nutritive value. Your rabbit must have cool fresh water at all times. A rabbit will not eat if it doesn't have water. It could have a tummy ache or a hair ball. Tempt it to eat with honey nut cheerios, a sprig of alfalfa, a sprig of mint, a carrot top, or a slice of apple. If it still doesn't eat anything you may want to consider taking it to a vet.

Rabbits are grazers, which means their bodies and minds are naturally adapted to eating on-and-off all day and night.

Healthy rabbits have food working through their digestive tracts all the time. If rabbits go awhile without food, they can get seriously ill (GI stasis - rabbits can't safely fast like humans, dogs, cats, and many other animals can).

Also, if rabbits don't have something to nibble on, they can get bored (which can lead to behavioural problems), and their teeth can become overgrown (leading to serious complications - ulcers, abscesses, even eye damage and digestive upset).

The best answer to these problems is to make sure your rabbit has unlimited access to hay (100% of the time, 24/7). Grass hay is best for most adult rabbits, while alfalfa (a legume hay) is better for juveniles (under 7 months), nursing and pregnant mothers, and some sickly/underweight adults (with vet direction).

Grass hays include timothy, brome, and orchard grass. Oat and other grain hays are higher in carbohydrates, so they shouldn't be offered all the time. Some companies sell grass mixes (e.g. "meadow grass"). Some companies sell grass mixed with dried herbs and flowers (e.g. "botanical hay"). All of these are fine choices. However, grass hay mixed with legume hay (like alfalfa) or dried fruits or vegetables (like carrot) are not good choices because they're too high in proteins, sugars, and/or starches.

In addition to hay, twigs/woods and paper products are fun and healthy for rabbits to nibble on. Paper products should be plain (like newsprint or cardboard) - avoid products that have lots of bleach, lots of colours, glossy finishes or labels, tape, staples, etc. Twigs should be clean: no pesticides, roadside pollution (exhaust, etc.), or any other chemicals.

Some kinds of woods are toxic for rabbits, so be careful! Some safe woods include apple and willow. See the links below for details.

Other parts of a healthy rabbit diet include high-quality rabbit pellets (moderate protein, low fat, high fibre), and fresh vegetables and fruits. See the related question below for more information and helpful links.

This is a sign of serious illness. Bring your rabbit to the vet immediately.

On the other hand, if it's the middle of the day, maybe your rabbit is just sleepy. Feed rabbits in the morning and evening, when they're most likely to want food.

Run a test: hold out a favourite treat to your bunny, like a small chunk of banana, or a raisin. If this doesn't rouse your rabbit, bring him or her to the vet right away.

Do you feed your rabbit when it looks hungry?

What does a rabbit look like when it's hungry? Your rabbit never looks hungry: he might want attention, like some petting time or some time to run around your room (or even outside if you have a fenced in backyard). You should feed you rabbit either three SMALL portions a day or two moderate sized portions. But NEVER continually feed your rabbit because you think it looks hungry: not all, but some, rabbits can eat till it kills them.Rabbits should never be that hungry because they should have unlimited 24/7 access to hay. Grazing is a natural activity for rabbits: it's important for their mental health, dental health, and digestive health! When your rabbit is hungry, it will nibble on hay until its mealtime. Rabbits can't eat too much hay, so you don't have to worry about over-feeding hay (like you do with all other foods).See the related question below for more info about the rabbit diet.
