Why not do a retro beach party? Rent "Gidget" and "Beach Blanket Bingo" for ideas. Go to the thrift store for vintage swim suits, and while you're there hunt for a couple of vintage coolers. Your grandmother could suggest music of the times and probably give hints for the bonfire. Just one idea.
