Is every gear essentially reverse now?
Sure if you want to use lots of fuel and put extra wear on the engine.
It's the main drive gear mechanisms in the transmission.
I have a 1995 Ford Econoline van with an automatic transmission. When I went to drive the car today, the shift gear moved and shifted but would not go into gear. It's refusing to "click" into gear for Reverse, Neutral, or Drive, and has quite a problem clicking into Park as well. When I set the car to drive, it does not move, in fact it acts like it's in neutral. What's wrong with it? Is it the transmission, or possibly something else? If so, what?
It depends on how steep the hill is and how heavy your vehicle is. If you find that when going up the hill in second gear you are getting too many RPM's, then yes shift up to third. But generally you should keep in the lowest gear possible, without overrevving the engine, especially if you're driving a loaded van or other heavy car.
depress brake pedal while attempting to put the vehicle into gear. retard
replace the clutches for third and fourth
What is the timing gear set up for a 1999Ford Transit Van
There are several shims that could be used such as starter shims (for adjusting drive gear to ring gear), caster/camber shims (for front end alignment), body shims (for aligning body panels),
drive from london to scotland that should do it
If you can't get your ford van to go into gear there can be an issue with your transmission. Take your van to an auto mechanic, they can do a number of test to determine the cause.
can i drive with rear doors open on a van
