Though refrigerators with bottom freezers can be convenient, as the freezer allows more of the inside of the fridge to be at eye level, they're more expensive and a bottom freezer tends to hold less. Other than that, their maintenance is pretty much the same as top freezer refrigerators. Spills inside the fridge or freezer should be wiped up at once. An open box of baking soda should be put in both the fridge and freezer to absorb odors. It should be replaced every three months. Foods in the freezers should be stored in freezer bags, which should be dated. The coldest parts of the freezer are against the walls or the bottom of the compartment and items should have enough space between them for air to circulate.
