It is not possible to answer in terms of a grid that cannot be seen, but a normal grid of 2 squares x 2 squares will have 5 squares.
2 x 2 = 4 squares
In a 2 by 3 grid, you can count the squares of different sizes. There are 6 individual 1x1 squares, and 2 larger 2x2 squares, which can fit in the grid. Therefore, the total number of squares is 6 (1x1) + 2 (2x2) = 8 squares.
There are 9 squares I can see 12 squares in an array of 2 * 4 squares
There are 4 squares in a 2 x 2 grid.
5 squares. One 2 by 2 square and four 1 by 1 squares.
2
The answer will depend on the dimensions of the 2 squares
There are 5 squares in a 2 by 2 grid if the large square enclosing all four smaller squares is included in the count.
In an 8x8 grid, the total number of squares can be calculated by summing the squares of the sizes from 1x1 up to 8x8. There are (8^2 = 64) 1x1 squares, (7^2 = 49) 2x2 squares, continuing down to (1^2 = 1) for the 8x8 square. Thus, the total number of squares is (1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 + ... + 8^2 = 204).
