These kennels are kind of like pet hotels, and will vary in price according to their level of luxuriousness, just like a human hotel. Some boarding kennels have just the basics: a cage, food, and water. Others are more middle class and have more things in addition to the basics, such as a private outdoor running area for each cage, one-on-one play-time with a kennel staff member, or special treats like doggy ice cream. Then, there are the most luxurious boarding kennels. These kennels are often very spacious, are equipped with comfortable pet furniture, and some even go so far as to put a TV in each kennel with your pet. Much of your choice in boarding kennel will depend on your budget. Decide how much you are capable of spending to board your pets.

Also, make sure you review the boarding kennel's policy. It is best to go with a boarding kennel that requires animals to be vaccinated against Infectious Diseases before being boarded. That way, you know for sure that your pet will not get sick or be exposed to an illness while you are away on vacation. It is never fun to come home from a stay at the beach only to learn that Lucy, the family greyhound, has come down with kennel cough. In addition, when looking into kennels, make sure that the kennel you choose has a cage size that is appropriate for your pet.

For example, if you have a large dog like a Newfoundland, it will need a very large kennel. Not all boarding kennels have cages large enough to accommodate very large dogs. In addition, if you would like to board a cat, make sure that the boarding facility has a place to accommodate cats, as not all do. Once you find the right boarding kennel for you, you can rest assured that your pet will be in very capable hands.
