Kid-Friendly Chicken Fingers Recipe
Cooking for your children may be hard when they do not like certain foods. There are some kid friendly recipes that you can prepare with the help of your children. You can prepare nutritious recipes that use a wide range of foods that children enjoy eating.
Most children enjoy eating chicken strips. You can make easy chicken fingers that your kids will be asking for every night of the week. Begin by marinating a package of chicken fingers in buttermilk. Leave the chicken in the milk for about an hour before you remove the fingers. Marinating the chicken fingers this long will make them tender and moist for children to eat. After the chicken fingers have been in the buttermilk, you can roll them in bread crumbs or crushed cereal. Shredded wheat that has been finely crushed is a good cereal to use. Corn flakes are also good to roll the chicken in. Try to coat the chicken evenly so that there is an equal amount of cereal on the chicken.
After you have rolled all of the chicken fingers in your mixture, lay them on a cookie pan to go in the oven. Spray the pan with the chicken on it with a cooking spray. This will make the chicken easy to remove from the pan, and it will also brown the outside of the chicken. Heat the oven to 375 degrees, and leave the chicken in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes. While the chicken is baking, you can make sauces for your kids to dip the chicken in. Some children are happy with dipping chicken in ketchup or barbecue sauce. The dips can be placed in small bowls so that it is easy to get a little bit of everything. You can make a ranch dressing with yogurt and ranch seasoning that you can find in a grocery store. Honey mustard is another great sauce that kids like. Blend honey and Dijon mustard in a bowl and you have a sauce that almost all kids like. Remove the chicken and serve them on a plate with the sauces.
