For people that are scared of clowns, these costumes are like nightmares with floppy shoes. There are a number of variations to make the joyful clown a nightmare inspired joker. Theatrical fangs, red contacts, zombie prosthetics, skeletal features, blood makeup and more can be used to bring out the creep in the clown. Makeup use generally creates sharp angles and creates a sinister appearance. The best part about the creepy clown is that they can be incorporated with any normal clown's costume. A zombie jester, a vampire mime, and the homicidal circus clown are some basic ideas.

Clowns are great costume ideas. There are so many ways to mix and match the different costumes; it is unlikely any two will be exactly alike. Clowns can be personalized with an individual's personal touch, no matter how silly or macabre. All that is needed is the proper costume, props and imagination.
