Childhood obesity has reached unprecedented levels in the United States. Much of it has to do with the unhealthy diet that involves fast food and processed food. Teens love to eat food that is high in sugar, carbohydrates, and fat. Combined with a lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle, teens are gaining weight and becoming unhealthy.
The best diet advice for teenagers is to limit consumption of candy, pastries, snacks, soda drinks, condiments and fast fried foods. Eating such foods has become a habit for average teenagers and it is time to limit such intake. For kids, calories is not much of an issue as fat, sodium, and sugar which can cause heart problems and Diabetes in the future.
