Disney Costumes Are Everywhere

Answer 1

Children often pretend to be characters from favorite television shows and movies. Disney television and movies are very influential in the lives of children and pretending to be a broken down tow truck or a pixie fairy, a superhero or a quick talking cowgirl are popular choices.

Because of their popularity, there is no shortage of Disney costumes. Depending on the purpose of the costume whether it be for one night of trick or treating or a lifetime of daily dress up will help determine how much to invest in the outfit.

The Disney resorts, Disney Store and Disney Store online offer high quality Disney costumes. You will likely pay more for costumes at these locations but the quality is generally better and longer lasting than similar costumes sold at discount department stores. Costumes at the Disney Store and Disney online are marked down periodically. Prior to Halloween sales on costumes usually begin around mid-September. You will find costumes at their lowest at these locations after Halloween but they are usually well picked over.

Toy stores and discount department stores carry Disney princess and fairy costumes year round. At Halloween, these stores carry a wide variety of Disney character costumes and accessories. Depending on the character, most costumes begin at around $19.99. The closer it gets to Halloween the more likely these stores are to run sales on their costumes, just dont wait too long or popular items will be gone.

Since childrens interests change frequently, gently used costumes can be found at yard sales, resell shops and at online auction sites. Buying through one of these outlets can often save you more than 50 percent off of retail prices. Be sure to look early if shopping for a Halloween costume.

You dont always have to spend big dollars to create something special for a child. Some Disney characters such as princesses, fairies, pirates, cowboys and cowgirls can be created with clothing already around the house. Before shopping take a look around, you might find clothing in the back of Dads closet that would work great for a Captain Jack Sparrow costume.
