I am a middle school English teacher. I just read the lyrics and this is my take on it as far as literary devices:
Symbolism and metaphors are used to describe "the monster" which I see as possibly being temptation and sin. He tries to keep it locked inside and show the world only the good side of him. He is only a Christian on surface, and he is afraid that if you get close you will see his true inner evil self, yet he wants someone to rescue him from his evil and is subconscienciously seeking a saviour, someone to lead him to become a true Christian. I could be completely wrong, but that is just what I "read" into it.
The song, Monster, by Skillet, has figurative language. Some of the lyrics talk about keeping parts of themselves caged. This is figuratively speaking as you can't cage parts of the human body.

Yes, "The Last Night" by Skillet contains various literary devices, such as metaphor ("I give my life to you"), hyperbole ("I'll wait"), and imagery ("The darkness doesn't have a hold on me"). These devices help enhance the lyrical and emotional depth of the song.
