Once a prospective student has considered the advantages and disadvantages of going to a graduate school university, and understand what the requirements are to get in, the next step would be to apply for admission to the school. Generally speaking, a prospective student should take the GMAT at least 4 months prior to when they hope to go to school. This will give them a month to get their test results back, which should leave them with plenty of time to complete the rest of the application process.
