The hourly pay for a farm equipment mechanic can be quite high. In some cases, they will make between $50 and $75 per hour for their labor. That is a lot of money when you consider how many hours it can take to fix a piece of large equipment. The nice thing here is that most farms have insurance on their equipment, so when something breaks down they don’t have a problem shelling out money to fix it quickly. A great mechanic who always gets it right can command up to $100 per hour for his time with some farms.

What do they do?

A farm equipment mechanic will look at things like tractors, backhoes, and other large times and figure out what is wrong with them. From electrical problems to straight mechanical failures, the idea is to get it fixed. They then order the right parts and put them in the right places, fixing those big tractors and getting the farm back on point.
