For non-profit organizations on the small side, some popular fund raising events include a nice banquet dinner with a speaker, a night of comedy, a Chinese auction or a raffle. In addition to the money raised from an event, people are often willing to donate items or their time as well, thus lowering costs even further. For instance, a speaker at a dinner may accept a lower fee than normal, or even waive the fee altogether as a way of helping the event.
