Gateway to Peace is a traveling museum whose aim is to teach the tenets of peace to elementay-aged school children. Their mission is to help shape a society in which the culture of teaching prevails over the culture of violence. To do that, they believe it's important to teach peacemaking skills and values at a young age.

To perform that goal, they have put together a muesum that travels to schools throughout the Saint Louis metropolitan area for anywhere from one-day to four-day presentations. The museum is focused on edcuating children from kindergarten through the fifth grade, as well as their families. Children are taught through a mixture of individual and facilitated activities, presentations, guidance training and hands-on interactive exhibits.

Over 40 exhibits are used to demonstrate four aspects of peace: Peace for Me, Peace for Us, Peace for Everyone and Peace for the Planet. Skills taught include cooperation, communication, tolerance, appreciation for diversity and environmental stewardship.
