If not, home owners will have to open and reseal each individual bag or box to find out if the needed items are inside. If the items are not resealed properly, they may be damaged by pests or environmental exposure.

Though garage shelving cannot hold fully assembled cribs and other furniture items, some items may be disassembled and hung on hooks on the walls. Screws, bolts and other items needed for reassembly can be stored in a small Ziploc bag and taped to the larger item it will later be used to reassemble. Hooks for storing these larger items often come as a package with some garage shelving units. Alternatively home owners can use over the head storage in combination with their garage shelving. These units are typically used for bikes and other such items but can also be used for storing other items. If need be, zip ties can be used to help secure items to overhead storage units. Like hanging hooks, overhead storage units may come packaged with garage shelving sets.
