it's about 4 1/2 hours and around 250 miles from denver to gunnison. The trip can depend heavily on the condition of the roads. Monarch pass, (about 50 minutes from gunnison) is the most hair ball part of the drive, be carefull! I recommend getting off of I-70 around the copper mountain area and driving threw leadville, as it is the most stunning route.
