During this training, most teachers are also required to have a certain number of hours of classroom experience under the direction of a teacher, commonly known as the student teaching process. Teachers are also often required to continue their education after they get a job, in order to keep up with new teaching procedures and to keep current within their specialized fields.

Starting salaries vary greatly. However, this is a median figure and subject to a variety of different factors.

People who become teachers do so for the love and satisfaction of the job. People who become History Teachers do so because they understand the importance of telling the stories that need to be told and making sure another generation learns from the mistakes that have been made.
