-Before any wedding planning can begin, the couple needs to establish a budget.
-Set a date and time for the wedding. Keep in mind, spring is one of the busiest times of the year for weddings. All vendors will most likely be very busy and reservations are essential.
-Use a spiral notebook or 3-ring-binder to keep all the wedding details in one place in an organized fashion. Tabs are great for finding exactly what is needed in a hurry. Tabs should be made for all the details, including; flowers, music, attire, decorations, catering/reception, venue, transportation, guest list and anything else that a couple will need to plan.
-It is important a venue if found early on. Venues tend to book quickly, and a reservation is a must. Most venues will also require a deposit.
-The bride is best served by shopping early for a wedding gown. This allows plenty of time to find the perfect dream gown without the stress of being pressed for time. It is also a good idea to get a head start on bridal party attire as well.
-If a live band or specific deejay is desired, this is another detail that should be reserved early on. Some venues will provide music for an additional fee.
-Fresh flowers are beautiful, but can be very costly, especially if the couple will have a large bridal party. Flowers that are out of season at the time of the wedding will also add additional costs. If the couple is on a tight budget, silk flowers are an option. Fresh flower arrangements should be ordered at least a few months prior to the wedding.
-Limousines, special carriages or other transportation will need to be reserved as well.
A wedding is one of the most special days in a couple’s life and should be treated as such. A beautiful, dream wedding is attainable with proper planning.
