Has anyone had trouble with their gallbladder because you took Lexapro?

I did and ended it with having my gallbladder removed and weaning off Lexapro in one week. My first problems with my gallbladder arose a couple of months into taking Lexapro for the first time years before. I stopped and then I had a pregnancy and about 5 year with no lexapro. When I had a traumatic family sitiuation I tried Lexapro again and again a couple of months into it I started to have gallbladder attacks. I took one lexapro after my surgery and it made me so sick I have vowed to never touch it again. It sucked because it really did great for my anxiety.

What would make it necessary to have a gallbladder removed?

If you have ever had gallstones or gall attacks, you would say gallbladder surgery is necessary. The surgery can typically be done with a laser leaving only small incisions and scars. Gallstones are especially painful and can cause nasty symptoms such as diarreha, vomitting, etc. It depends on the condition of the gallbaldder. You should consult a doctor to be sure. You can also ask for a second opinion. The usual treatment for gall stones is to surgically remove the gallbladder. If the patient is not a good candidate for surgery, the doctor may prescribe medications to dissolve cholestrol gall stones, but the medications may take years to completely dissolve the stones. Treatment for gall bladder cancer may also involve surgery.

What does it mean if you are nauseous every day?

I've had this problem for a couple of years now. It began when I needed to have my gallbladder removed. Once it was removed, my nausea got worse. There are several different things it could be. I recommend you see a stomach specialist to have tests run and tell them your symptoms. This would be the best way to find out what is wrong.

What does gallbladder adhesions feel like?

I just had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago. I had adhesions from my omentem to my gallbladder to the underside of my liver. I had had problems with my gallbladder for 2 years. All I can say is I had two different types of pains...one was a pulling sensation when I would lay on my left side. I would get a lot of referred pain to my stomach, therefore my doctors thought I had an ulcer. Then I would get gallbladder pain, the usual sharp pain under my ribs, as I did have decreased function of my gallbladder. I had an ultrasound done an there were no gallstones. I had a hiata scan done and I had decreased ejection fraction of 30% of my gallbladder. The ultrasound obviously did not show the adhesions, as it is such fine tissue. When the surgeon opened me up, he could not believe how many adhesions I had. My overall symptions were a lot of stomach pain. I couldn't eat very much. A lot of this was referred pain from my right side. Unless I would palpate that side, I would tend to think that it was my stomach giving me all of these issues. And then I had real gallbladder pain, which was sharp stabbing pain under my ribs. I'm 29 years old, 5'8" and 125 lbs. Excellent shape if you exlude these symptoms! I could not however ride my bike or do extensive exercise because my stomach would kill me 5 minutes after I was done. It would lead to vomiting as well. I am still in recovery mode as this is extremely painful, but I am feeling better as time passes by.

Will you lose weight after gallbladder removal?

Having a scar after gallbladder removal depends on how you have it removed, There are several different ways. 1, to remove the gallbladder in an "open" manner. They make and inciscion on the lower right quadrant, its usually a few inches long. In the old days they would cut you from under your ribs to the top of your navel. 2, The most common way these days is "Laprascopic" (Less scaring) The put in two to three portals in the torso area and remove the gallbladder with long skinny instruments, and a camera. The scars are about an inch wide. 3,There are new techniques, which i have not seen, only heard of studies, where the gallbladder can be removed through natural orifices (the vagina) for females of course.
