Nintendo consoles offer superior video game entertainment. However, with so many available, a person might have trouble deciding which system is best for their situation. They can make their decision easier by taking into consideration three factors: their need for portable gaming, whether or not they are interested in next-generation systems and how much money they have available.

One of the first things you need to think about when it comes to Nintendo consoles is how often you’re on the go. People who spend a lot of time on the bus or subway are going to have more of a need for portable systems over those who travel in their cars. Parents might also want to get portable systems for their kids, especially during long trips. Some might even want a portable system during their time in the bathroom. In either case, you can consider getting one or more of the following: a Nintendo DS, DSI or XL, a monochrome Gameboy, a Gameboy Color, a Gameboy Advance or a Gamecube. If you get a Gamecube, keep in mind you will need a mini-screen to maintain the system’s portability. The rest of the systems include their own screens.

The ability to engage in next-generation gaming is another factor to consider when choosing among the different Nintendo consoles. In the case of the portable systems, the latest device is the Nintendo DSi-XL. It has a bigger screen than the DS or the DSI and it also includes a camera.

Among non-portable Nintendo consoles, only the Wii is considered next-generation. This is because it uses 3D graphics in addition to a motion-sensor remote. Such is not the case with the Gamecube or Nintendo 64, which utilized subpar 3D graphics.

However, if you like retro systems, the Gamecube and the Nintendo 64 still offer a better gaming experience over older Nintendo consoles. This is not to say that the other systems aren’t valuable. If you’re the type that prefers old-fashioned video gaming, then consider getting a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Gameboy or Gameboy Color from eBay.

Finally, you need to think about how much money you have to spend on a Nintendo console. The most expensive system is the Wii, which is currently $200. The Nintendo DSI-XL follows at an astounding $190. The DS and DSI are not much less, as they range between $120 and $160. The only non-retro system that can be acquired for less than $100 is the Gameboy Advance. It costs $89. If you need a Nintendo console that is cheaper, you will have to go for a retro system.
