5. Get onto the tractor and adjust everything to your comfort if it can be adjusted, such as the seat and some instruments. Make sure no objects or people are around the tractor for safety purposes.
6. Take off the parking brake, depressing the clutch. When you are ready, start the engine and slowly release the clutch before pressing the gas pedal.
7. Drive cautiously so that you avoid rollovers, and make sure you do not drive onto a slippery slope or into any steep embankments. Overall, drive slowly and drive carefully.
8. When you’re done with the tractor, stop slowly and let it idle for a couple of minutes in order to let the engine cool evenly. Failing to do this can cause the engine to cool improperly, which will shorten its life by drastic levels.

Starting the Tractor

When starting a tractor, you should never simply just turn it on. Instead, before starting the tractor, take the handbrake off and hold the clutch down. While holding the clutch, start up the engine and shift the tractor into the desired gear. When you are ready to move, slowly lessen pressure on the clutch and at the same time, give it some throttle. Doing this will cause the tractor to easily begin to move.

Driving the Tractor

While driving the tractor, it’s important to remember to not hold the clutch pedal down if you don’t intend on fully stopping. It’s okay if you’re wanting to make a complete stop but if you’re wanting to just simply slow down, it is strongly not advised. Holding the clutch to adjust speed will wear the clutch out rather quickly, and slowing down the tractor is not a necessary use of the clutch.

Shifting Gears

To shift the tractor’s gear, depress the clutch pedal completely and then move the throttle to the desired gear. As previously stated, when shifting into the parked gear, the clutch pedal must be completely pressed down in that situation as well to bring the tractor into a parked position.

To turn the tractor off, shift into the neutral gear, set the parking brake, and simply turn the tractor off.
