This way, you will know if it is a cheap imitation or not. Look at the finer details, chances are, if the watch is fake, they will have skipped these to save on the cost of production.

Is the designers logo correct – check out exactly what your designers logo looks like, a cheap imitation will not have an exact replica of the logo on. It will always have something strikingly similar that can fool you into thinking that it is the real thing.

Is the designer’s logo on the back on the watch – a sure test of whether a watch is authentic or not is to flip it over to see if the designer’s logo is stamped in the metal cover on the back. If there is another name on there or an imitation name similar to that of the designers, then it is surly a fake.

Is the leather real – this can be hard to tell, but if you are looking at what appears to be a leather strap on your watch, check the smell of the watch, does it smell like leather? Is the designers name stamped into the strap? Does it feel like leather? Real leather is soft but also tough and will normally have a distinct smell and will not have a shiny plastic coating.

In addition, make sure the watch comes in its original box and if possible with its certificate of authenticity. This could always be a fake watch in a real box though so always give the watch a thorough look over to check for the tell tale signs of a fake watch, this way you can be sure to grab yourself a real bargain and not a fake one.
