Birthday parties are a good way to celebrate a child's birthday, but there are things that are needed to make it a success. Party supplies do not have to be purchased the day before the party. Instead, they can be bought throughout the year and saved so that you have them when you need them.
Something that is easy to keep on hand for birthday parties and takes up very little room is balloons. Balloons are very inexpensive and can be purchased at most retail stores for less than a couple dollars. Packs of balloons are sold with as few as ten or as many as twenty. Balloons can also be ordered at stores that have a florist on location. These balloons are filled with helium, and they last for a few days after they are inflated. Helium balloons should only be purchased the day of the party or maybe the day before.
Streamers make parties fun and colorful. They come in several different colors, and they match most any party theme you can think of. Cascading streamers from the ceiling or banisters in the home make a party the talk of the town. Simple scotch tape holds streamers in place until it is time to clean up the party. Streamers are inexpensive as well. Many times through the year stores will have sales on streamers so they can keep up with the new colors coming out.
Invitations are good to stockpile as well. If the theme of the party is not known, then generic invitations can be sent to friends and family. Once the theme of the party has been decided, invitations related to the theme can either be bought at a store or they can be made online.
Other party supplies include treat bags for the friends of children at the party, plates, cups and napkins. Party supplies don't get old like food, so they can be kept in a closet until it is time to use them.
