Toddlers have the most fun at Halloween. One of the reasons they have so much fun is the costumes that they get to wear. Children love to play dress up through the year, so why not go all out on Halloween and get candy to go with it. There are costumes that will suit toddlers better than older children.

Princesses

Little girls like to be a princess. Dressing up as a princess for Halloween is easy and you don't have to spend a lot of money. Start with a frilly dress that you already have in the closet or that you find at a consignment store. Carefully add some glitter on the dress to make it sparkle. Find some clear, silver or white shoes to wear, but make sure they are not slippery on the soles. Add a wand and tiara and your daughter is ready to have her candy wishes granted!

Superheroes

Boys love to play with their Action Figures, and they also make great costumes for Halloween. Most of the superheroes like Superman, Batman and Power Rangers will have costumes that you can buy at any retail store. There is really not a way to make superhero costumes, so check at second hand stores instead of having to pay full price for a costume.

Cuddly Animals

If Halloween is known to be colder where you live, dress your toddler up in a costume that resembles an animal so they can stay warm. Teddy bears are popular with boys and girls, and you can add personal touches to make the costume unique. Cats are another great animal costume that you can make your own. All you have to do is add some color to the costumes or some bows, and you will have an animal creation that you and your child can do together.

Any cartoon character such as Barney, Barbie or Sesame Street is also good ideas for toddlers to dress up as for Halloween. Keep the costumes non-scary so your child can have fun!
