Keiser University, founded in 1977, boasts a student population of approximately 13,000, and offers Associate of Science degrees in the culinary arts at three of its Florida campuses (Melbourne, Sarasota, and Tallahassee). Sixty percent of Keiser University students are aged 25 years or older, and seventy-six percent of students work either full-time or part-time while attending classes.

At Keiser University’s Center for Culinary Arts, students can choose between two degree options: either an A.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or an A.S. Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. Keiser University’s culinary arts programs are accredited by the American Culinary Federation, with the goal of helping students succeed in a culinary career after graduation.

Keiser University offers students a traditional educational experience in which they can expect to be taught in a classroom, in the lab, and with plenty of hands-on experience, too. Keiser gives students professional knowledge of all aspects of the food industry, and offers basic to advanced instruction in food handling, preparation, and cooking. Students of the Keiser Culinary Arts program are required to complete an internship and 84 credit hours before their degrees are awarded.

The program, itself, focuses both on basic and creative, guiding students in mastering skills that will help them create appetizing, attractive, and nutritious meals and specialty items. In the program, students are required to learn the principles of food, how to cook a variety of dishes within various cuisines, how to prepare stocks and sauces, and food service supervision and sanitation, to name a few of the vast number of topics.

Chefs from the Keiser Culinary Arts program have appeared on television Cooking Shows, have taken home awards in recipe and cooking contests, and participate in charity and community service events (such as feeding the hungry).

Keiser University is qualified to accept Federal Financial Aid, and offers a variety of aid programs for students with financial need. Additionally, Keiser awards hundreds of thousands of dollars in culinary arts scholarships to aspiring culinary artists.

Keiser University offers a variety of services to current and former students, including career placement after graduation, part-time placement while attending school, career development assistance, housing assistance, and much more, all with the goal of turning out true culinary arts professionals.
