The simple awnser; no. If you look at many online articles by doctors they explain that Video Games and other technology relieve stress and make it easier to get through the teenage years.
-------------------
I would agree with your simple answer other than the spelling. In general, No. Wait... maybe yes. I'm a middle age kid and I spend too much time using technology! I would say a majority spend too much time being entertained by technology i.e. TV, videos/movies, games, social sites, etc. There is still a beautiful world outside and to enjoy it usually involves a small bit of exercise vs. plopped in front of 'the tube' or computer. I'll throw in the 'when I was a kid' example; we were outside until we had to come in.
As far as online articles by doctors... I haven't been to a doctor since I got out of the Navy in 1990 other than a major bout of food poisoning a few years ago. I'm not on any medication, nor have I been at any time in my life other than the typical flu cold stuff years ago. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, obviously. Here's mine. I believe that a positive attitude, a hobby you enjoy (most call this work or a job), a loving partner if you choose, topped off with a bit of light exercise, decent body fuel and rest can equal a stress-free life without doctors and all the meds they tend to push these days. I add Lifepak from Pharmanex to my body fuel. It's my health insurance. I realize there is cancer, MS, etc. and I'm not discounting the knowledge, education, and experience involved in what it takes to become a good, successful doctor. No offense to the medical profession, but I hope I don't ever need their service.
Easier to get through the teenage years!? Don't even get me started. I've been involved in Youth Ministry at the J.H and H.S. level since the mid 80s. Can tech tools and toys relieve stress and help a kid from a broken home, with a single parent who is never around, due to the two jobs being worked to make ends meet? Sure. So can a mentor, 10 laps around the block, some gardening, etc. The broken home was just an example. I could just as easily substitute the scenario with an overachiever or spoiled kid from Coto de Caza, CA.
No one ever told me life was going to be easy. In fact, life is so hard... I bet you don't make it out alive! (Thanks Jerry) I was raised by two loving parents who are celebrating 50 years of maraige this year! My wife and I are catching up with 16 and counting. In addition to growing up in that environment, I recall being told I could do, accomplish or become anything I set my mind to. I choose to set my mind free to dream... and to help others who aren't as fortunate as I or are going through some rough waters. If more kids were raised in such loving, positive environments, even if it doesn't come fully from their home, I know this planet would be a better place.
Rapping this up, I'll take us back to technology. I've been interested and involved in technology for as long as I can remember. I've made a living for the last 20 + years in the IT field helping others get the most out of their tech tools and toys. I bet you don't enjoy the thought of calling the tech doctor! Thank God I don't call that doctor either.
Not sure if this necessarily improved the original answer, but it sure added to it. Thanks for reading. Now go hug someone and smile at everyone you see today.

It is more like that one will get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from playing today's video games, but it is also possible to get arthritis from older consoles.
Playing video games is basically wasting time, but then so are any games. Video games do help with hand-eye coordination, but the important thing to remember is to limit your playing time and go spend time with your actual friends and family most of the time.

His job is playing Video Games all day!
This isn't backed by any sort of factual evidence, but my theory is that you actually spend alot of time playing video games. By that I mean that time goes by faster in-game then it does doing other things outside of the game. It also depends on how often you are peeing.
