Before purchasing lighting, you should become familiar with the different types. Unlike lighting requires different types of illuminiations; therefore, it is important to know which lighting will be required for the specific function. If you are considering light fixtures, spotlights, or recessed fixtures, then general lighting is needed. If the requirement is for reading, sewing, or cooking then a task lighting is necessary, such as a pendant or portable light. There are lightings that are used for highlighting a specific subject such as a water fountain in a garden, a favorite art piece or collectible, then you would need an accent light.
