Orbital sanders for large and tough jobs?

Random orbital sanders are an excellent sanding tool and are especially great on larger, tougher jobs. The sanders work at a very high speed and can make quick work of difficult sanding jobs. However, that high speed can create problems. If you are working with soft woods, a lighter touch is required as orbital sanders have a tendency to leave striations. The sander must always be kept flat to keep from damaging the wood. Take care not to tilt the sander as it will cut into the wood. If you have a large tough job, choose a random orbital sander.
