There are several solutions that can help you when you accidentally scratch your phone screen. There are glass and plastic phone screens that may need different solutions applied. Always check what you put on your screen as not everything works for both screen types. Never apply too much of anything so you don’t get more damage to your phone.

When you scratch your screen the first step you want to do is clean the screen. You do not want any outside particles getting into your screen from the scratch. Clean the scratched part of the screen using a clean cloth and a little water. Lightly clean the area of the scratch so that you do not damage the screen.

After you have thoroughly cleaned the area of the scratch you want to buff the scratch out. There is more than one way to buff the scratch out of the screen. The first way is to use toothpaste as a scratch grinding solution. This will work on plastic or glass phone screens.

Taking a small amount of toothpaste you want to firmly rub it into the scratch. Take care not to allow the toothpaste to get inside your phone in the process. The toothpaste will act as a compound that grinds away your screen where the scratch is to make it smooth. Make sure you rub the scratch in the direction that it is longest.

For much larger scratches you can use a brass metal cleaner. These compounds are strong enough to shine brass and will wear out the screen better than toothpaste. This solution is applied the same way as the toothpaste using a clean cloth in the longest direction of the scratch. A third solution for the scratch in your phone screen is to use a car wax solution.

This technique will fill in the scratch in your phone screen rather than wear away. In addition to this, it will leave a protective coating on the phone screen to protect against future scratches. A similar solution that will fill in the scratch rather than wear it down is nail polish remover. However, nail polish remover will not work quite as long as the car wax solution.
