A flea infested puppy is not only an itchy and sad doggie, but could also be an unhealthy one. Fleas sucks significant amounts of blood from a dog, which can cause anemia and dehydration. Flea treatments from the vet can cost as little as $15 a dose and rid the canine of fleas within hours. Store bought treatments can work, but only for a short time. Be careful not to shampoo too often, as it can dry out your dog's coat.
fleas. i would give a flea bath and/or flea medicine for a puppy. make sure the medicine is for the correct weight and the shampoo for the flea bath is very gentle for the ppuppy.
You are not supposted to put flea/ tick medicine on a puppy. If the dog is usually under 6 months to a years of age it should not be put on. It can cause the dog to get sick. If you have a small dog but is older it should not get sick and it shouldn't shake unless it has some alergic reaction to the medicine. I have a small dog and we use flea medicine on him and he is fine and never has fleas.
